There is no online process for the Japan Working Holiday visa application. All Canadians must submit their working holiday visa application in person at the consulate under their jurisdiction. If you are unsure about your jurisdiction, please schedule a call with us now.Â
Yes, you will have a visa sticker inside your passport.
You will need to show that you have at least $3,500 CAD in savings if you have a round-trip itinerary to Japan. If you do not have round-trip tickets, you will need to show a minimum of $4,500 CAD at the time of your visa submission.Â
Canadians must schedule a visa appointment or submit the visa application in person via a walk-in depending on their jurisdiction, but this won’t be a structured interview. It is for Canadians to present and submit all documents, including their passport.
The consulate or embassy will hold your passport for 1-2 weeks to process your visa, so please do not schedule any international tips during this time!
The entire Working Holiday visa application process is done in English, so don’t worry if you don’t speak any Japanese! At the Japanese consulate in Montreal, they may accept some documents in French.
Canadians can do almost any job under the working holiday visa to Japan, except to work at places affecting public morals. Most Canadians tutor or teach English, as well as work in the hospitality/tourism industry. No, you don’t need to travel right away! After your Japan Working Holiday Visa is approved, you have up to 365 days to activate it. Once you enter Japan, your visa allows you to stay for a full year, giving you plenty of time to plan and prepare for your trip!
