Pilot Participant for South Korea Working Holiday

We’re giving one intrepid traveller the opportunity to live, work and travel in South Korea for a year!

We’re looking for someone with a passion for travel to participate in a trial program for the South Korea Working Holiday Visa. The successful candidate will participate in the South Korea Working Holiday Program, including working and travelling in the country for the duration of the visa period.

Please note:

You will be responsible for your own visa application and travel expenses, including airfare, accommodations, travel insurance and living expenses. Although we are able to guide you through your visa application forms the final decision will be made by the Consulate for the Republic of Korea.

Key Responsibilities

Spend one year living, working and travelling in South Korea! You role will be to represent Stepabroad as a friendly, professional and sustainably-minded traveller. You will provide:

  • Blog: provide one blog for our website
  • Photography content: Provide a minimum of ten images
  • Video content: Provide a minimum of five videos of at least fifteen seconds in length for use in TikTok posts, and Instagram Reels and Stories
  • Testimonial: one written testimonial and a video testimonial
  • Feedback on your experience! This includes the duration of the visa processing time, documents requiring any adjustment, other visa processing issues, your arrival process, services recommended and any other aspect of your experience

South Korea Working Holiday: What to Expect

The South Korean Working Holiday visa allows you to work up to 25 hours per week (not including remote work or work for accommodation). Consequently, the most popular working holiday jobs are temporary or casual positions such as farm work, tourism, hospitality and retail.

South Korea Working Holiday Visa Requirements

In order to apply for the South Korean Working Holiday Visa, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Be between the ages of 18 – 30
  • Canadian citizen currently living in Canada
  • No children or financially dependent relatives
  • At least 6 months remaining on your Canadian passport
  • Must have health insurance for the duration of your stay in Korea
  • Have sufficient funds to support yourself for the initial period of your working holiday ($3,400 CAD)
  • Have never previously entered Korea on a Working Holiday visa
  • No criminal record

How to Apply

To apply, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Keen to travel to South Korea within the next six months
  • Meet the eligibility criteria for the South Korea Working Holiday Visa
  • Must have a passion for travel and be willing to explore South Korea during the trial period
  • Must have excellent organizational skills and the ability to keep detailed records of experiences and provide feedback
  • Must be comfortable in front of a camera
  • Must be comfortable working with people from different cultures and backgrounds
  • Must have a positive attitude and be willing to adapt to new situations and challenges
