FAQs

How many people are at the camp?

There are various sizes of camps available depending on your personal preference. The largest has around 250 staff, while the smallest only has around 40 staff. There will be a combination of local permanent employees and seasonal international staff (just like you) from all over the world! Also, there can be between 150 to 1,200 kids staying at the camp at any time so you definitely won’t get lonely.

What are the living conditions like for staff?

All of the camps have allocated staff accommodations that usually consist of shared rooms and a common lounge area. Meals are served in the dining hall and are prepared by the onsite catering team. Most of the centers provide free wifi and they all have laundry facilities available. Some of the larger camps even have on-site bars to relax in at the end of the evening!

What are the working hours?

Working hours vary depending on your role, but normally you will be working 37 to 42 hours a week split over either five or six days. You will also accrue 0.5 days of paid annual leave for each week that you work. Once this has built up, you can take some time off to explore the UK and Europe!

How much will I be paid?

Wages can fluctuate based on your role, experience and location, but most of our participants find that after taxes, accommodation and food are deducted, they are left with at least $1,000 CAD per month. This makes the UK Summer Camp Program a great option to save for future travels.
