There is a maximum of eight students per instructor to ensure that you receive plenty of one-on-one time.
The surf camp operated year-round, rain or shine. The weather is nicer in summer but the waves tend to be larger in winter. Either way, wetsuits are provided to help keep you warm.
Statistically speaking, more people are killed by toasters each year in Australia than by sharks. The annual average number of deaths by shark attacks in Australia is only seven individuals, while electrocution by a toaster average 55 people annually. The media isn’t interested in reporting death by toasters – so often people have an unrealistic view of the risks posed by Australian wildlife. The most popular surf beaches are monitored by lifeguards and helicopters in summer to minimize risks, and as long as you use common sense and follow local signage then you are very unlikely to have any issues.
