Meet your guide and get set up with your bank account, SIM card, and tax file number. Afterward, venture out and explore Melbourne on an informative guided walking tour with our fun team and fellow travellers. Grab a world-class coffee to sip on while learning about this glorious city, exploring hidden laneways and seeing some mind-blowing street art.
On this self-guided day, you will be able to go out and explore the city with your new friends. Let our team know what you want to check out and they will give their insider tips and recommendations. You will also have a chance to ask our team all your questions about finding a job, accommodation or travelling around Australia - anything to help get you work and travel in Melbourne - and the whole of Australia
Cap off an amazing start to your trip with a trip to the Melbourne Sky Deck for beautiful views of the city. Finally, wrap up your orientation with an organized night out to experience Melbourne's world-class nightlife. Cheers with new friends to your grand adventure that is about to unfold!

Our Melbourne Discovery Experience runs from Monday to Thursday throughout the year. We typically ask for three months’ notice before you plan to leave Canada so you can make the most of our support in preparing you for your adventure abroad.
Want to leave sooner? No problem, we’ll put your services on high priority!
Orientations are held at least twice a month, with additional dates added during peak season. As spots on this program fill up very quickly, we ask that you contact your Travel Coordinator to discuss live availability before reserving any non refundable flights.
Yes! Melbournites take their coffee seriously and the taste really reflects that. After the Second World War, Melbourne experienced an influx of Greek and Italian immigrants who brought their beloved espresso machines with them. Since then, coffee has evolved into an artform and baristas take pride in producing some of the highest quality coffee in the world.

There are all kinds of jobs available around Melbourne, it just depends on your skills, experiences and preferences. Many participants find work in the hospitality sector to help them make friends, while others like to continue their professional careers in an office environment. Some like to head outside of the city to work in the tourism industry on the Great Ocean Road, and those looking for second-year visa work often head to Mildura to look for farm work.
