The job you get will depend on your previous work experience. Did you know that New Zealand has one of the highest minimum wage of the world? $23.50 per hour from April 1st, 2025.
If you plan to travel around New Zealand before settling in, you'll have full access to our team and our job portal for 12 months, allowing you to make this experience your own mixing work & travel.

Our local team will support you here! Stepabroad provides extensive resources to guide you in finding and securing a job in New Zealand. With our support—and your motivation—most participants find jobs within one week of arrival.
Joining the Discovery Program means you’ll also access workshops, active job boards, and job support for 12 months from our in-country recruitment team, helping you land a role as soon as you land.
Not at all! We will just get you started in Auckland, but you’re free to explore and work anywhere in New Zealand. The flexibility of the New Zealand Working Holiday Visa lets you design your adventure your way.
You can land at any time in New Zealand and we can arrange any extra night at your accommodation for a small fee if need. Please make sure to let your travel coordinator know in advance so we can ensure your arrival goes smoothly and we have availability for your desired start date!
It’s easy! Our in-country team will pick you up from Auckland Airport and take you directly to your accommodation. After the long journey (yes, two full days of flying!), you can relax and prepare for the exciting week ahead with no extra stress.
Absolutely! Many of our participants book extra nights so they can get settled and plan their next move. Our local team can support you by booking extra nights before your program starts or after you are all set!
