FAQs

Do Canadians need to have some Spanish level to do a working holiday visa in Spain?

No, you can be a complete beginner all the way to advanced – it doesn’t matter! Our language school partner in Spain will test your Spanish level if you are not a complete beginner, so that you can join the correct class upon arrival to Spain. Their goal is to ensure that you will join a class where you will make the most of it! The sooner you become confident with your Spanish, the better.

How long in advance do I need to apply for this program?

We recommend at least 3-6 months before your desired travel date. You can register up to a year in advance, just because the Spain working holiday visa can be a lengthy process! Better to be safe than sorry!

Is accommodation included for the 2 weeks of this program?

No, our language school accommodation requires an additional fee, but the school can help you find your perfect accommodation for the duration of your 2-week Spanish courses!

What kind of accommodation can I book in Spain as part of this program?

You can choose between a single room in a shared apartment with other students or a home stay in Spain, totally up to you! A homestay in a Spanish family might be a great way to get started in the country

Are there any activities organized that I can join to meet other Working Holiday makers in Spain?

Yes! Each location has weekly social activities that students can partake in, ranging from tapas night, museum tour to flamenco classes! That’s why our Kickstart program is very popular if you want to land and meet some new friends and start using your Spanish!

What are the nationalities of other participants in Spain?

You will study with students from all over the world, ranging from other European countries to the USA, South Korea, etc.. Any expat getting ready to improve their knowledge in Spanish can join our School!

Are the Spanish classes accredited?

Yes! Our language school partner has been well-endorsed and accredited by well-known institutions, such as the Madrid Chamber of Commerce, CSN, etc.

In which cities of Spain can I do this program during my Working Holiday?

Our partner Spanish school locations are Barcelona, Madrid, Valencia, and Malaga and the courses run for two weeks. After the courses are done, you can be in any other city you wish in Spain!

Is this program available all year round or has set start dates?

Yes, courses are available all year round with start dates throughout the year, so book a free meeting with us at Stepaborad today so we can start planning together!

What is the benefit of booking this program instead of finding my own Spanish lessons upon arrival?

We arrange the language classes on your behalf with our trusted partner so that you don’t have to worry about it at all, and you can be reassured that you will be attending an accredited and well-endorsed institution. We help you with your working holiday visa and the school part, so we set you up for a successful start in Spain!

Do I get extra support for finding a job in Spain if I choose this program?

No, you will get the same level of job support regardless of which program you choose for Spain. However, the Spanish teachers at the school can review your Spanish resume and give you any feedback if you ask them!

Can I extend my program for more than 2 weeks if I want to stay taking Spanish lessons?

Absolutely! You can extend for as long as you want, and the language school can walk you through the additional fees.
